Back in January, rap icon Los Def criticized Drake’s music – calling Drizzy a “pop” artist instead of a “hip hop” artist. That interview sparked a backlash against Drake – that eventually led to the Kendrick Lamar-Drake feud.
Drake hasn’t forgotten what Mos Def did … and so he’s getting back at the rapper, in one of the sleaziest ways imaginable.
Media Take Out confirmed that last month, Mos Def’s eldest daughter – an R&B artist named Laila, turned 18 years old. So she’s officially an adult – and capable of having an “adult” relationship.
Laila posted about her birthday last month:
Well last week, Drake started following Laila – and the beautiful 18 year old followed him back. According to multiple internet reports, Drake allegedly reached out to Laila – via her DMs – and offered to work with the new artist.
We know this looks pretty foul. And given Drake’s history, he probably is up to some “A Minor” stuff here. But let’s not forget that Laila is a pretty popping artist right now. She released a song called “Like That” that took off on TikTok.
So maybe Drake is just trying to do business with the young artist.
