Drake is asking a judge to allow him to be removed from the Astroworld lawsuits because he says he had no parts in planning the event.
Over 2,500 people have sued after a crowd surge at the 2021 Astroworld festival. Ten people died and hundreds were injured. Travis Scott, Live Nation, and the Canadian rapper were all included in the lawsuits.
“Mr. Graham did not receive any security briefings, was not informed of any crowd control issues, injuries or deaths in the crowd, or any stop show orders at any time either before or during his 14-minute performance,” Drizzy’s attorney wrote.
His attorney adds that Drake “arrived at the venue at approximately 7:30 PM and remained largely secluded backstage in a trailer until approximately 9:54 PM” and that he was “informed to take the stage”.
Drake performed before he exited the stage at 10:08 PM. A grand jury decided not to move forward with criminal charges against Scott.
