A judge has ruled Drake be from numerous lawsuits over Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival in November 2021.
Ten people died and hundreds of others were injured during a crowd surge at the festival. A class action suit was filed against Scott, Live Nation and Drake, but Drake has always maintained that he did not know there were any safety issues at the venue.
“Mr. Graham did not receive any security briefings, was not informed of any crowd control issues, injuries or deaths in the crowd, or any stop show orders at any time either before or during his 14-minute performance,” his attorney argued.
“Plaintiffs produce no evidence that [Drake] actually knew of any risk in the Festival site design and layout, competence or adequacy of Festival staffing and personnel, or emergency procedures such as show stop authority,” they added.
Last year, a grand jury declined to indict Scott in connection with Astroworld.
