Drake is setting the record straight after Victoria Monét playfully crowned him the king of “tricking.”
The rapper responded after Monét described him as a “professional trickster” and “trickmaster.”
“There’s a return on investment in your soul for doing things for people who you feel deserve it,” Drake wrote in Complex’s comment section.
“The difference is there isn’t an expectation on the other side,” he continued, explaining that gifts can simply be a way of recognizing “consistent love and loyalty.”

Drake has kept much of his romantic life private, though he has been linked over the years to several high-profile women, including Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Serena Williams. He shares a son, Adonis, with artist Sophie Brussaux, but the rapper has not publicly confirmed a long-term relationship in recent years.
“So once you have experienced enough joy from material things for yourself sometimes the only is to see the joy on faces after unexpected gestures for others,” Drizzy went on.
“Transactional exchanges with the expectation of intimacy are a different frequency.”
Y’all agree with Drake or is Victoria Monét on to something?
