Dorinda Medley is reflecting on the devastating loss of Robert Cosby Jr., sharing her heartbreak over the news that has shaken the Bravo community.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, the former Real Housewives of New York City star reacted to the death of 23-year-old Robert, the son of Mary Cosby.
“I don’t even know how to speak on someone that has a person, especially a child, that is possessed with a drug addiction,” Medley said. “That’s a mistress that you can’t fight with.”
Robert was found dead in Utah on February 23 after authorities responded to what was initially described as a medical emergency. While an official cause of death has not been confirmed, early reports indicated police were investigating a possible overdose.
Mary later confirmed the loss in a statement, writing, “Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord,” and thanking supporters for their prayers.
Robert’s struggles with addiction and legal troubles had played out publicly, including on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, where Mary spoke candidly about her fears and hopes for his recovery.
Medley acknowledged the complexity of loving someone through addiction, adding that many in the Bravo world had been “rooting for Robert.”
