DJ Akademiks has entered the conversation after Megan Thee Stallion confirmed the end of her relationship with Klay Thompson.
The online commentator reacted on X soon after the rapper’s announcement, siding with Thompson and referencing the four NBA titles he won during his career.
“Shordy said monogamy… man cut it out,” Akademiks posted. “Klay ain’t win 4 rings for nothing! She thought she was the 5th ring… aww hell naw.. who u think u r… Ayesha?”
His remarks followed a pointed breakup message from Megan Thee Stallion, who accused Klay Thompson of betrayal and uncertainty about commitment.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house, got ‘cold feet’,” Megan wrote on Instagram Stories.
She added, “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous????’”
Through a representative, Megan later told Complex that she chose to end the relationship because “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship.”
She added, “When those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.”
The former couple made their romance public in July and had recently appeared to be going strong. Megan even spoke openly about hoping for an engagement in the future. She previously surprised Thompson on his birthday with a performance by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Thompson has not publicly responded.
