DJ Akademiks: Kendrick Lamar Called Elliott Wilson a Rat to His Face!

Lyndon Abioye |

DJ Akademiks is stirring the pot again, this time dragging Elliott Wilson into the never-ending Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef.

During a recent livestream, Akademiks claimed Wilson’s relationship with Drake went left after the rap superstar allegedly stopped entertaining interview requests from the veteran journalist.

“All respect to my n—a Elliott Wilson,” Akademiks said. “Him and Drake fell out ’cause he felt entitled to Drake giving him an interview.”

Akademiks then turned his attention to Wilson’s appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” video shoot, claiming the interaction between K. Dot and Wilson was far less friendly than people thought.

“He went to the ‘Not Like Us’ video… Kendrick called him a rat straight to his face,” Akademiks alleged. “How you diss the man who gave you multiple interviews, run to the other side, and the man not even happy that you switched sides?”

Wilson previously addressed the incident on social media, writing, “Kendrick dapped me up and whispered ‘you’re a rat.’ I [heart emoji] hip hop.”

Wilson has openly sided with Kendrick during the feud which exploded in 2024. That same year, Wilson claimed that Drake had banned him from Toronto.

“I got the calls from OGs — I’m not really welcomed in Toronto right now. I grew up in NYC and you know not to go into other people’s projects,” he said at the time. “You might visit shorty but you ain’t got no business being over to those projects looking for no problems. So, I would not go to TO if me and Drake weren’t good. I just think it’s a tough time to manage these relationships with artists… You develop these connections with them, and then you have to manage these relationships and its ups and downs with that.”
