Drake is his favorite rapper, but DJ Akademiks defended Kendrick Lamar against claims that he stole his “Not Like Us” lyrics from Twitter.
Several old tweets seemingly very close to Lamar’s song lyrics in the song have gone viral.

Ak says that fans need to give Kendrick credit for making such a great song.
“I’mma just keep it 100. I’ma just give Kendrick his credit for being a genius. This is a good song,” said Ak.
“It’s a little dumbed down but that’s exactly what it needed to work. I don’t gotta sit here and try to belittle his efforts. I think it makes us look like salty Drake fans just trying to create sh-t to discredit the n-gga,” he added.
“Not Like Us” has been hailed as the song of the summer and also a Cali anthem. While Ak gave K.Dot his props, he says Drake may not be done with the beef.
Fans are calling for Drizzy to take the ‘L’ and drop some summer hits.
