DJ Akademiks says he is done publicly feuding with Ebro Darden and The Kid Mero because he says it’s not worth it.
“These guys, they think they’re slick,” he said during a recent livestream. “The tables done turned.”
According to Akademiks, continuing the public dispute only helps Ebro and Mero draw more attention.
“Ebro gets like no numbers now,” he said. “At a certain point, he’s going to get numbers if I’m responding to him every week.”
The latest clash began after Akademiks commented on Ebro’s recent exit from Hot 97, claiming the longtime host left because of poor ratings.

Ebro later fired back on his radio show, calling Akademiks an “alcoholic degenerate loser.”
Akademiks then responded during a livestream, criticizing both Ebro and the station’s current lineup.
“You guys did suck at your job,” he said. “But they hired someone who’s worse.”
That prompted an irate response from Mero, who posted a lengthy message on X attacking Akademiks personally and mocking his role in the media.
Now, however, Akademiks says he no longer plans to respond.

Neither Ebro nor Mero has publicly responded to Akademiks’ latest remarks. Fans aren’t convinced that the beef is over.
