Diddy’s Release Date Quietly Changes Again in Federal Records

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ expected prison release has been moved up once again.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons updated its records Tuesday, August 4, showing that Diddy, 56, is now scheduled to leave FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey on February 20, 2028. His previous projected release date was February 23, 2028.

The date has changed several times. Federal records previously listed April 15, April 25, and June 4, 2028, as possible release dates. Officials have not publicly explained the adjustments.

The Bad Boy Records founder is serving a 50-month sentence after a New York jury convicted him of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

Diddy is participating in a drug-abuse rehabilitation program at the low-security prison while his attorneys appeal his conviction and sentence. The approximately 14 months he spent at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center counted as time served.

His lawyers requested Fort Dix so Diddy could remain closer to his family and receive treatment. Attorney Teny Geragos cited the need to “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”
