Sean “Diddy” Combs has been hit with a fresh new lawsuit by a man who says the mogul chased him down to confront him back in 1996.
An Atlanta man named DeWitt Gilmore claims that on one night during the summer of 1996, Diddy and a group of his “associates” pulled up and began provoking him while he was trying to get into his vehicle which was parked outside of a nightclub.
Gilmore claims that the confrontation escalated until gunshots were fired and he fled.
“Defendant Combs and his associates blocked Plaintiff’s car, creating a sense of immediate danger. Defendant Combs’ associates brandished firearms and shots were fired. Fearing for his life, Plaintiff Gilmore, with Lance Calfe and Rico as witnesses, were aggressively chased through the dark city streets and managed to evade the scene by accelerating through traffic, narrowly escaping a potentially deadly ambush,” the lawsuit reads in part.
New evidence has recently resurfaced after reconnecting with Calfe, which finally led Gilmore to file his case.
He is seeking $5 million in damages, citing emotional trauma, physical injuries, lost opportunities and harm to his reputation.
