Sean “Diddy” Combs was rushed to a hospital after reportedly suffering a head injury behind bars, before being returned to prison and placed in solitary confinement.

The 56-year-old music mogul was transported by ambulance from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey early Saturday morning, according to TMZ, which cited prison sources.

A source familiar with the situation confirmed to PEOPLE that the Bad Boy Records founder received hospital treatment for a head injury that was not considered life-threatening. Diddy was reportedly back at the correctional facility later that day, where he was placed in solitary confinement.

It remains unclear how he sustained the injury.

His spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, addressed concerns surrounding his condition.

“We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances,” Engelmayer said. “Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”

Diddy had previously spent time in solitary confinement following reports that he was allegedly caught with contraband items inside the facility. The disgraced music executive is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

His projected release date is March 2, 2028, after he was previously scheduled for release in January.
