Diddy Owes NBCUniversal $477K After Judge Slashes $1 Million Request!

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been ordered to pay nearly $478,000 in legal fees to NBCUniversal after losing a lawsuit connected to the documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.

Diddy must pay $477,700.50 toward the company’s attorneys’ fees, according to court documents TMZ obtained.

His representative, Juda Engelmayer, addressed the reports.

“Yes, Sean was ordered to pay approximately $478,000 in attorneys’ fees, but that is only half the story,” Engelmayer told TMZ.

NBCUniversal originally sought close to $1 million and Engelmayer said the court cut more than $512,000 from that request after finding some billing excessive and unreasonable.

“The Court found substantial portions of its billing excessive and unreasonable,” he continued.

The fee award followed NBCUniversal’s successful defense against Diddy’s lawsuit over the documentary. The judge found that some of the company’s requested costs went too far, even though the hourly rates its attorneys charged were deemed reasonable.

Engelmayer also pointed to Diddy’s former legal team, saying the same firm that challenged NBCUniversal’s billing later withdrew from representing him amid its own billing dispute.

Diddy remains in federal prison following his 2025 conviction and is currently scheduled for release in early 2028.
