Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain in federal prison 40 days longer than previously expected after his projected release date was moved to March 2, 2028, amid reports that he enjoyed special privileges while incarcerated.
The 56-year-old rapper and producer had originally been scheduled for release on Jan. 21, 2028, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records.
The change follows allegations that Diddy had access to contraband and unusual comforts at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, where he is serving his sentence. According to NBC News, the disgraced music mogul allegedly paid for massages from other inmates, drank premium cognac and had special meals prepared for him.
The report also claimed he used a “jailbroken” tablet to watch movies and documentaries, including Netflix’s Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
A source also confirmed that Diddy had been seen using a cellphone to scroll Instagram and look at sexually explicit photos sent by a former girlfriend. The Bad Boy Records founder was subsequently placed in solitary confinement.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including reasons for a change in release date,” the Bureau of Prisons said in a statement via PEOPLE.
Diddy received a 50-month prison sentence after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges at his federal trial.
