Real Housewives of Potomac star was recently sentenced to two years in jail with one year suspended after being convicted of a list of charges, including DUI.
According to TV Deets, Karen’s sentence could have been as little as 60 days of jail time had she accepted a plea deal offered to her by the prosecution.
Karen decided to take a gamble and head to trial instead, despite last year’s DUI arrest being her fourth.
“My jaw dropped,” Wendy Osefo told after learning of Karen’s sentence. “I couldn’t believe it. At the end of the day, we may have our differences, but I always wish her well, and I’m just keeping her in prayer, 100 percent.”
There have been rumors that filming the next season would be put on hold until Karen is released, but these rumors have been squashed by production and Wendy agrees with their decision.
“With this group, we have found a way to navigate with her presence and without her presence,” added Dr. Wendy. “Looking at the reunion, I think that we maneuvered in a positive way as a collective, as a unit. I wish her the best, but I think that the Potomac brand still is strong.”
