Dave Chappelle’s Attacker Says He Was ‘Triggered’ By The Comedian

The man who attacked Dave Chappelle on stage says he was triggered by some of the comedian’s jokes the night of the incident.

“I identify as bisexual… and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering,” he told the New York Post. “I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect.”

“I’m also a single dad and my son is five,” Isiah Lee said. Chappelle also reportedly joked about homeless people. “It’s a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.”

Lee says the joke that he made that caused him to attack Chappelle was a joke about pedophilia. Lee said he was molested when he was 17.

“I told him my mother and grandmother, who fought for his civil rights to be able to speak, would be upset at the things he said,” said Lee, “Now your story will die with you, son.”
