Dame Dash is challenging Jay-Z to release a real diss record after the rapper’s Roots Picnic freestyle appeared to revive their long-running feud.
Dash addressed the verse during an interview with Cam Capone News, saying Jay-Z should stop with indirect shots and put the message into a full track.
“You should have never said my name,” Dash said. “We could play games. You can snap. I really want you to give me a real good diss record, if you still can.”
Jay-Z did not mention Dash directly in the freestyle, but fans quickly connected the lyrics to the former Roc-A-Fella executive. In one line, Jay-Z rapped, “That chatty patty is down on his luck again.”
Dash was not impressed. He called the freestyle “whack” and said it was “like a joke but it was a old joke.” He also clowned Jay-Z’s appearance, saying, “You got to keep that stupid a– afro.”
Dash continued by questioning whether Jay-Z is still physically ready for a face-to-face clash.
Dash and Jay-Z once helped build Roc-A-Fella Records into one of rap’s defining labels before their partnership fell apart. Jay-Z has not responded, but there have been rumors circulating online that he is recording an album, so there is a chance Dame could be directly addressed on the upcoming project.
