Dame Dash was full of praise for rapper Freeway in a recent episode of The CEO Show.

Dame worked with many artists during his time at Roc-A-Fella Records but says that out of all of the artists, Freeway is the one he respected the most.

“I wanted to publicly give you my blessing as a general. I want everyone to know that if I were to say, ‘Who at Roc-A-Fella has impressed [me] the most?’ it would be you. Because you been through the most and you’ve done everything on your own. You have not sold your soul, you stayed cool,” he said to Freeway.

“You did records with them, you doing records with me. It’s not a problem, no issues. When you get in a position of power, I see you sharing it. You really want to see your boys do good. You’re a man of your word and that’s the most important thing,” he added.

Philly rapper Freeway first gained recognition after appearing on Jay-Z’s fifth album, The Dynasty: Roc La Familia in 2000. The following year, he became a member of the Philadelphia-based hip hop collective State Property, which were signed to Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings. After releasing their debut album, Pridgen would sign to Roc-A-Fella as a solo artist and subsequently begin work on his solo debut, Philadelphia Freeway.
