Media Take Out Staff |

Buffalo Bills star Damar Hamlin is recovering well in hospital after collapsing on the field during Monday night’s game.

The Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals was postponed after the Bills safety went into cardiac arrest after making a tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. Hamlin had to be resuscitated on the field and is receiving 100 percent of oxygen from a ventilator.

Dr. Timothy Pritts told reporters that Hamlin has made “substantial improvement” and that he is able to to communicate by shaking his head, nodding or writing brief notes.

“This has been a very difficult week,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. “We continue to focus on the recovery of Damar Hamlin and are encouraged by the improvements in his condition as well as the tremendous outpouring of support and care for Damar and his family from across the country. We are also incredibly appreciative of the amazing work of the medical personnel and commend each and every one of them.”
