DaBaby’s attorney says the video leak of him shooting and killing a man in Walmart does prove his client acted in self-defense.
“Witnesses were interviewed and corroborated Mr. Kirk’s [DaBaby] statement,” Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg told TMZ. “The entirety of the surveillance video was viewed and determined to corroborate Mr. Kirk’s statement … Mr. Kirk was protecting himself and his family at the time of the shooting.”
DaBaby allegedly shot 19 year old Jaylin Craig in self-defense after a confrontation in Walmart in Charlotte. Craig while accompanied by another teen approached Dababy while he was with his then girlfriend Mariah Osborne and their two children.
The two struggled in a physical fight and Dababy shot and killed the teen. According to witnesses, Craig did not draw his gun but he reached for it and changed his mind. Witnesses also say that DaBaby’s girlfriend yelled “he’s got a gun” and others in the Walmart said they saw Craig’s gun.
Some say the video proves DaBaby was the aggressor and should be charged with his killing.
