Da Brat announced she is pregnant and is welcoming a child with her wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart.
Da Brat is 48 and Judy is 41. Da Brat told the outlet that she didn’t think having children was in the cards for her.
“I never thought I was going to have kids,” she says. “I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me. I’ve had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn’t get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn’t going to happen for me.”
Da Brat says the couple went back and forth about which one of them should carry the child…and Judy won the battle.
“I was like, nothing’s gonna come out of me!” said Da Brat. “We had a little tug-o-war in the beginning…but I felt like she should have the experience,” says her wife. “She is so nurturing.”
The rapper says she does not have any cravings or sickness but that the pregnancy makes her extremely tired.
