Country singer Garth Brooks has issued a statement, denying allegations of r-pe made against him by his former hairstylist and makeup artist.

“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” he said in a statement obtained by CNN.

Jane Roe says she was employed as a hair and makeup artist and that in May 2019 she flew Brooks to Los Angeles to tape a Grammy tribute performance to Sam Moore. When they arrived at the hotel, she was “shocked” when she was told she did not have her own room and that she had to share with Brooks. Roe alleges Brooks repeatedly exposed his genitals and buttocks, talking about sex and sharing sexual fantasies with Roe. He would change his clothing in front of her and even send her graphic text messages.

She says the country singer sexually assaulted her to the point she felt as if she were going to break in half.

“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another,” he added. “We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.”
