More than a year after Karon “Ronny Doe” Cann was gunned down in Maryland, police say the investigation into his death remains active, and his killer has not been publicly identified.
Cann, an ex-boyfriend of Chrisean Rock, was shot multiple times outside a home in Severn in February 2025. Emergency responders treated him at the scene before taking him to a hospital, where he later died.
“We can confirm that it is an open and active investigation; however, we are unable to provide any additional details,” Anne Arundel County Police Department representative Justin Mulcahy told TMZ on Monday.

Detectives reportedly believe the shooting was a targeted attack. Authorities have not announced any arrests or publicly disclosed a possible motive, suspect, or person of interest.
Cann made headlines before his death after claiming that he was the father of Chrisean’s son, Chrisean Jr. Chrisean has consistently identified Blueface as the boy’s father, although the rapper previously denied paternity.
“I deserve to have that proven to me through what? A DNA test. If Junior is not my son the DNA test will prove that. Right or wrong? Right,” Cann said back in November 2024.
About a month after Cann made the claim, he reportedly approached Chrisean at a mall while she was with her baby. Police were called following the encounter.
