Former fighting champion Conor McGregor is in hot water again after a woman filed a civil suit accusing him of sexual assault during the 2023 NBA finals in Miami.
The Miami Heat and Basketball Properties LLC have also been named as defendants.
The woman claims that she was taken to an arena bathroom by an affiliate of McGregor’s, where he sexually assaulted her after Game 4 between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.
She alleges the incident took place on 9 June 2023.
The woman says that even though he was intoxicated, the venue continued to serve him alcohol even though the athlete had a “chargeable knowledge of a heightened risk of battery being carried out.”
“My client has thought long and hard about the decision to pursue this civil case, and is fearful of the effect it may have on her job on Wall Street,” her attorney, James Dunn said. “Nonetheless, her main goal in filing this suit is to raise awareness and encourage others to report sexual assault.”
