Conor McGregor Appeals S*x Assault Case Verdict

Tiffany Brockworth |

Conor McGregor was recently convicted of sexual assault, but the MMA fighter is appealing the verdict.

In November, McGregor was found liable for an alleged s*xual assault, and was ordered to pay the alleged victim $250,000.

The victim, Nikita Hand, said she and her colleague Danielle Kealy went to the penthouse suite with McGregor and a male associate following a work Christmas party. They partied together and reportedly took cocaine before McGregor pinned her to the bed and assaulted her.

Hand even claims the fighter had her in a chokehold at one point. After the attack, she was covered with scratches and bruises, but McGregor says he was not the cause of her injuries.

Hand said after the attack, she was forced to leave her job as a hairdresser and has not been able to work since due to her mental health. She also lost her relationship and her home after falling behind on her mortgage. She spent thousands of dollars on therapy but had to stop because she ran out of funds.

On Friday, McGregor filed an appeal against the judgment with the Irish courts.
