Mike Epps recently ran into former boxing champion Adrien Broner backstage at an event, and the comedian tried to offer the athlete some sage advice.
In a clip circulating on the internet, Broner is seen approaching Epps with a cup of liquor in hand.
Epps, who seems instantly appalled by Broner’s intoxicated state, then told him to put the alcohol down. “Put that down, you don’t need that,” he says sternly.

“You’ve worked out so many years of your life, and you do that,” an unimpressed Epps stated. Broner seemed unbothered and was unwilling to put down his drink. After stuttuing out a few flimsy excuses, Epps walks away.
Broner has made headlines mostly for his alcoholism and behavior outside of the ring.
In 2020, Broner broke down during an Instagram Live session, admitting, “I’m an alcoholic,” while telling fans he was struggling mentally and financially despite earning millions throughout his career.

The former champion has also faced multiple arrests over the years, including allegations involving assault, DUI-related incidents and unpaid gambling debts. In 2023, a scheduled comeback fight against Michael Williams Jr. was canceled after Broner appeared visibly impaired during promotion for the bout, slurring his words in interviews and clashing with reporters online. Around the same time, he posted alarming messages on social media about feeling abandoned and exhausted by the pressures of fame.
More recently, he’s been going viral for his inappropriate behavior towards women during his recent livestreams with Deen the Great.
