Jay Pharoah opens up about the time he almost signed with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyer but that he refused because Diddy gave him a “creep vibe.”

Speaking on the Adam Carolla Show, Carolla asked Pharoah about any thoughts or interactions he’d had with the disgraced mogul.

“I mean, I met him before,” Pharoah said. “He gave me creep vibes … He was trying to get me to sign to his lawyer and I didn’t.”

According to Pharoah, Diddy’s attorney tried to sign him as a client and initially contacted his sister, who is also his manager.

“Once I found out what was happening, I was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t really rock with this,'” he recalled. “Do you know any Bad Boy artists who had a career after they got signed to Bad Boy? Besides Faith, who really didn’t even have a luxurious career like some other R&B singers. None of them. So why would I sign with you, or anything affiliated with you?” he explained.

“I know when you’re telling me your deals never get screwed. Yeah, your deals never get screwed. But me as an artist, I’m a sacrificial lamb when it comes to you and you might try to clap my cheeks,” he added. “I don’t want that shit to happen. You know what I’m saying? You’re a cheek clapper. You clap cheeks.”

Jay Pharoah is an actor and stand-up comedian, best known for his six-season run on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
