Claressa Shields Takes a Break From the Drama With ‘Negativity Cleanse’

Claressa Shields is giving herself 90 days without the online arguments and negativity that have repeatedly made headlines.

During a recent TikTok Live, the undisputed boxing champion revealed she had started a “negativity cleanse” and was already six days into the challenge.

“I’m on a 90-day negativity cleanse,” Shields told viewers. “And I know that now that I’ve said that, people are going to come rush me with negativity.”

“I am working on cleansing my energy and cleansing my space and I don’t want nobody messing with me,” Shields added.

Shields has exchanged remarks online with fellow boxer Franchon Crews-Dezurn just last week and has also been at the center of the fallout surrounding boyfriend Papoose’s divorce from his estranged wife Remy Ma. Claressa and Remy have traded words online, while Papoose and Remy have taken shots at one another through music.

“I don’t want to cuss nobody out. Leave me alone,” she went on.

“I’m not a nasty person, I’m not a mean person,” Shields said, adding that she does not allow people to “pick on” her or mistreat her.

“I’ve been doing really, really, really good,” she said but some social media users have accused her of starting many of her negative exchanges online.
