Claressa Shields appeared as a guest on Club Shay Shay, where she opened up about why she’s so comfortable within her body.
The interview touched on criticism and body image. Shields explained that she does not allow online attacks to affect her self-confidence.

Shields also discussed her childhood. She stated that she dealt with her mother’s addiction, her father’s imprisonment, and years of sexual abuse. She said the experience forced her to grow up quickly and to act as a protector for her younger siblings.
Her rivalry with Laila Ali appeared again during the conversation. Shields stated that a $15 million offer is available for a potential fight and said that Ali has not accepted it.
Ali recently shut down any hopes of them squaring off in the ring.
“So, did her plan work? Did she make me mad enough to come out of retirement after 18 years and start training again, to make her dream of fighting me, and having a big payday, courtesy of Laila Ali, come true? Absolutely not,” she said via YouTube.
