Robert Pattinson’s take on Chris Hansen has earned a brutal review from the man himself.
After finally sitting through A24’s Primetime, the former To Catch a Predator host revealed he couldn’t find a single thing he liked about the film.
Hansen shared his reaction in a YouTube video Friday.
“It was so bizarre and so in-and-out of reality,” he said.
The journalist claimed Pattinson’s character was nothing like him, describing the performance as “so detached, so unhinged, so dark, so unlikeable.”
Hansen also said approximately 13 members of his former crew watched the movie, with some losing interest after the first 30 minutes. His biggest complaint was the film’s treatment of the work he spent years doing.
“They didn’t want to hear that Chris Hansen is a good guy. They didn’t want to hear that this work is important,” Hansen explained.
The former NBC personality previously declined an A24 screening in August because of a legal agreement he was asked to sign. Pattinson, meanwhile, had hoped Hansen would take the dramatization as a compliment.
“I would hope the amount of inspiration his character has given a lot of people for years is some kind of compliment,” the actor said.
Primetime received a seven-minute ovation at the Venice Film Festival and earned $8.49 million domestically during its opening weekend.
