Chris Brown admitted guilt Friday in a London nightclub case, pleading guilty to affray over a fight that injured music producer Abraham Diaw.
Brown, 37, entered the new plea at Southwark Crown Court after previously denying several charges stemming from the February 2023 incident at Tape nightclub in Mayfair.
Prosecutors agreed to drop allegations of assault, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and carrying an offensive weapon. Omololu Akinlolu, Brown’s longtime friend and vocal coach, also pleaded guilty to affray.
The two men had been preparing for an October trial.
Breezy previously denied striking Diaw with a bottle, but prosecutors said surveillance cameras recorded the altercation as clubgoers looked on.
Senior prosecutor Claire Campbell called it “a vicious and unprovoked attack” and alleged that Brown struck Diaw in the head twice with a glass bottle.
“This kind of violence is entirely unacceptable,” Campbell said, adding that authorities would pursue such cases to show “no one is above the law.”
Brown, who had been free on £5 million bail, was granted bail again Friday.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 26 and faces up to three years in prison.
