Former NBA legend Charles Oakley never passes up an opportunity to embarrass his wife, Angela Oakley, and now fans are dragging him online after he claimed that he has no idea why he agreed to tie the knot.
“It wasn’t even planned. We were in Vegas. We just did it,” he told the podcast host, before going on to say that he told somebody that he thinks that someone “put something in his drink,” that night.
He said he went to the mall, bought a ring and a jacket for his bride-to-be, and then went to get married.
Will Charles may have been joking, but viewers did not find his comments even remotely funny.
“Dry humor or not. He needs to stop playing her and their union in public and on public platforms,” one viewer wrote.
“She needs to really consider spending time alone because this is probably the most questionable marriage I’ve ever seen….I don’t know why she’s still with him, he clearly doesn’t wanna be married!” another Real Housewives of Atlanta fan chimed in.
Another fan of Charles commented, “I like Charles he’s a LEGEND, but I want him to consider the embarrassment he’s causing his wife whether planned or not. Let’s be respectful and hold her in high regard at least in public. What she chooses to accept behind closed doors is their business but to the public has some decorum.”
On the show, fans noticed that Charles often seemed dismissive of his wife and even questioned whether he liked her. Angela has fiercely defended her husband, but now all eyes are on her to see how she will react.
