Charlamagne Tha God revealed he once thought HOV lanes were for Jay-Z.
“I want y’all to keep in mind that I know nothing about the HOV lane. The first time I ever saw an HOV lane was in New York City, and I said to myself, ‘Damn, JAY-Z got his own lane in New York,'” Charlamagne said.
“When I moved here in 2006, that’s the first thing I thought. I said, ‘Damn, JAY-Z got his own lanes in New York. He really is the king of New York.”
High-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes are one or more lanes of a roadway that have restrictions on use to encourage ridesharing and can reduce vehicle miles traveled (VMT).
Two weeks ago Charlamagne named the five Supreme Court justices who voted to reverse Roe v. Wade as his “Donkey of the Day.”
“They know what Republicans have been planning for decades. Republicans have never hidden their agenda, they have shown and told us what play they are going to run. And for some reason, Democrats never crafted defense to stop it,” Charlamagne said. “I mean, we didn’t just get here yesterday, people. Yes, it’s easy to point the finger at Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell and say, ‘Yeah, they put three judges on the Supreme Court.’ That’s true, but I feel like the cowardice and inaction from Democrats caused a lot of this.”
