Charlamagne Tha God reacted to the news Desus & Mero would be going their separate ways.
“One thing this situation reminds me of is we really are a culture that’s quick to talk about bad news,” he said on The Breakfast Club.
The comedians announced their Showtime slot had come to an end after four seasons. Their podcast has also ended.
“Like, Desus & Mero been on TV from Vice to Showtime and this show is critically acclaimed, they got a New York Times best-selling book, brand deals and have done some amazing things together and I’ve never seen the culture collectively report on those great things the way they’ve done this break-up. That’s just the way it is. People will scream about what they think is your failures and they’ll whisper about your success.”
Desus promised “big tings” from the BodegaHive soon.
“Shouts to showtime & shouts to the hive, thanks for being part of the journey. proud of the show my staff made every episode. Big tings soon come,” Desus tweeted.
