Charlamagne Tha God Defends Michael Rubin Following ‘Black Hate’ Comments

Lyndon Abioye |

Charlamagne Tha God spoke out in defense of Michael Rubin after his remarks on Black hate went viral.

Rubin was trying to defend his friend Meek Mill, who has been roasted online after being dragged into Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs.”

“When I see the narrative of, a really good friend of mine like Meek, and people are trying to… Again, if he was gay — which there’s not one gay bone in his body — who cares?,” he said. “Number one, If people wanna be gay, it is 2024. Who the f-ck cares? Number two, there’s not a gay bone in his body, so why do people wanna lie about that? Why do people want to change the narrative of a bet he made with me to hurt him?”

Rubin was dragged on social media and later issued an apology, but Charlamagne says his comments were justified.

“Meek said ‘Michael shouldn’t have said that out loud.’ Michael said one of his friends called and said that wasn’t his place to say it, but guess what? None of those people said he lied because he didn’t,” he said.

He continued,  “Now, I’m not in the broad generalizations because we know all Black people don’t hate each other. We know all Black people don’t tear each other down. But it does happen enough for him to make that observation, and it happens enough for us to have those conversations amongst each other. As I told him, if those are the conversations they are having in private, bring it to the forefront. We know what it is, we know why it is—white supremacy. And I would rather focus on what he said, which is ‘Let’s continue to push each other up.’ I’d rather focus on that.”

Charlamagne pointed out that they also had a conversation about “Jewish people hating on other Jewish people.”

“Anyone who doesn’t acknowledge that isn’t actively trying to fix it,” he added.
