Charlamagne Tha God believes Duane “Keffe D” Davis talked himself straight into a murder conviction.
The radio host gave Keffe D Donkey of the Day honors Tuesday, one day after a Las Vegas jury found him guilty in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur.
“If you give a man enough microphones, he’ll create exhibit A,” Charlamagne said on The Breakfast Club.
Davis spent years publicly discussing the night Shakur was shot, including in interviews, podcast appearances, and in his memoir, and unfortunately for him, prosecutors relied heavily on those statements during his trial.
“We not gonna sit here and act like Keffe D didn’t earn this sentence,” Charlamagne said. “He worked hard for it.”

He also mocked the idea that Keffe D’s public remarks were merely entertainment, as his defense argued.
“His arrogance got the best of him and ego needs an audience,” said Charlamagne. “Sometimes people don’t just want to get away with something. Eventually they want credit for getting away with it.”
He warned that turning everything into content can change how people think about what they should say publicly.
“Instead of asking, ‘Should I say this?,’ you start asking, ‘Will people watch this? Will people listen to this?’” he said. “The statute of limitations on stupid is forever.”
Shakur was shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, and died six days later.
