R*B legend Chaka Khan is known for saying whatever the heck she feels.
In a recent interview with ‘The Originals’ podcast, the ‘Sweet Thing’ singer didn’t exactly have the sweetest things to say when she was asked about the latest Rolling Stone’s “Top Singers” list.
“I didn’t even know what the hell you were talking about, so obviously this don’t mean a great deal to me,” she told interviewer Andrew Goldman about the ‘RS’ ranking. “These people don’t quantify or validate me in any way.”
When the host revealed that Adele ranked #22 (seven spots above her), Chaka replied, “Okay, I quit.”
She had even harsher words for Mariah Carey. “That must be payola or some shit like that,” the ‘I’m Every Woman’ belter said in response to Carey’s listing at #5.
The biggest diss came when Goldman shared the 69-year-old’s on-and-off-again friend Mary J. Blige was printed in the #25 spot.
“They are blind as a motherfucking bat! They need hearing aids…These must be the children of Helen Keller,” Khan exclaimed.
Chaka went on to explain how she believes that Mary J Blige “f***ed up” the remake of the song “Sweet Thing.”
