Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen said that he believes Bronny James’ cardiac arrest was due to steroids.
Bronny Jame suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the court and was later rushed to the hospital. The young baller is now in stable condition.
Sonnen made the unfounded claims on Twitter.
“If you do not properly monitor, your EPO use you can experience cardiac arrest and die in your sleep,” Sonnen tweeted. “If you do not properly monitor your EPO use, and you go into cardiac arrest in front of other people there is a good chance somebody will get you help in time and you will survive.”
He continued, “If you monitor your EPO use, but you combine it with testosterone you have a whole other set of problems in front of you. Hoping we can chalk this up to ‘lesson learned.'”
“In the basketball community, it’s all a family,” Chicago Bulls forward Patrick Williams told TMZ Sports after Bronny’s health scare. “You know what I mean? No matter where you are, basketball brings you in as a family. So, it definitely hurt the whole basketball community when we heard that.”
