Cesar Pina, DJ Envy’s former business partner, is trying to get plea deal with federal prosecutors.
In documents obtained by AllHipHop, Pina’s attorneys wrote that “Counsel for the parties represented that this additional continuance is necessary for effective preparation and to permit the parties to attempt to resolve this case prior to indictment and thereby avoid a trial.”
Pina wants the matter settled expeditiously.
Pina is facing allegations against him of financial mismanagement involving his clients’ funds. Pina’s clients have taken to social media to claims that they have lost as much as $1,000000 while working with him.
He has publicly apologized to DJ Envy, who was dragged into the scandal.
“It’s not a secret that my relationship with DJ Envy extends beyond the turntables and into the real estate market. However, it’s critical to clarify that he was never involved in any deals, negotiations, or partnerships that have come into question. I’m sorry to my wife, my family, DJ Envy and Envy’s entire family. I love you guys and I’m sorry that individuals with nothing to lose are trying to bring you down.”
