Cesar Pina, the former business partner of DJ Envy, is reportedly now driving Uber and Lyft to make ends meet while he fights several lawsuits.

Pina faced allegations against him of financial mismanagement involving his clients’ funds and by default, DJ Envy’s name was dragged into the controversy because they were business partners at the time.

Pina’s clients took to social media to claim that they had lost as much as $1,000000 while working with him. He was arrested and charged by complaint with one count of wire fraud. He is facing up to two decades in prison if convicted.

Pina’s attorneys were in court trying to get the travel restrictions of his bond changed.

“Defendant Cesar Pina has applied to drive for Uber and Lyft and has been tentatively approved to begin work as soon as possible,” his attorney wrote in court documents obtained by AllHipHop. “He has provided details of this prospective employment to his Pretrial Services Officer, Stephen Griggs. Defendant respectfully requests that the Court modify his travel restrictions to permit him to travel for work as an Uber/Lyft driver in the tri-state area (New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania), with the exception of travel to any and all airports in those states. I understand that, with the airports exception, this request is acceptable to Pretrial. The U.S. Attorney’s Office has not responded to a request for a statement of their position on this request.”

Envy has not been charged and has always denied any involvement in any illegal dealings.

“I honestly don’t know that’s between them and whatever happened. But did I say, ‘There, take this money and give it to this person or do this with this money?’ I never did,” Envy said on Instagram Live at the time. “If you ever came to my seminar, I tell everybody, ‘Everybody on this stage, whether it’s credit, prepare, or it’s a conventional lender, do your homework because I don’t trust anybody.’ If you’ve been to my seminars, I say that a million times.”
