On Thursday, former President Donald Trump was indicted for hush money payments made leading up to the 2016 presidential election.
The indictment stems from a $130,000 payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, and the $150,000 payment made to former Playboy model Karen McDougal. The hush money was dished out to the women to stop them from speaking out about prior intimate acts shared between them and Trump.
His charges have not been unsealed but Trump will likely be charged with a violation of New York penal code 175.10, falsifying business records in the first degree.
Trump will appear in a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday afternoon to hear the charges filed against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Recent reports state that Trump is expected to remain at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend and will travel to New York on Monday before his arraignment in New York on Tuesday.
