Carrot Top reportedly suffered a suspected prescription medication overdose before being rushed to a Las Vegas hospital, offering new details about the medical emergency that forced him offstage.
The comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was taken from his home Friday after emergency crews responded to his address., TMZ reported. The initial call reportedly described a 61-year-old man as “not alert.”
Sources familiar with the investigation told the outlet that Carrot Top had taken prescription medication before authorities suspected an overdose. No details have been released about the medication or how much he allegedly took, and no toxicology results have been made public.

The reported overdose has also not been confirmed by the entertainer’s representative or medical team.
His condition has since improved.
Thompson “remains hospitalized and under close medical care,” his representative told TMZ on Sunday. “He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.”
The medical emergency forced the veteran comedian to cancel several performances at his longtime Luxor Hotel and Casino residency, including shows scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Monday.
