Brian Evans says he never tried to use an alleged explicit recording of Carrot Top as leverage for a $500,000 settlement.
Evans spoke out after Carrot Top’s attorneys accused him of threatening to file the alleged footage in court if the comedian’s legal team did not agree to a payment.
“I never threatened, ever, to post any video anywhere in exchange for a settlement,” Evans told TMZ. He also claimed the recording had already been destroyed, saying it “was deleted a long time ago in accordance with the prior settlement.”
The allegations against Evans were included in a legal filing earlier this month involving Carrot Top.
Evans is also distancing himself from the comedian’s recent hospitalization after reports described the incident as an apparent suicide attempt.

“I do not consider Scott to be a bad person … based on what I know,” Evans said. “But he made a few decisions that were not good ones. That is not a reason to hurt himself.” He later added, “He survived and I am glad about that.”
Evans insisted he does not want to damage Carrot Top’s reputation.
“Scott is still young and has a big life ahead of him,” he said. “It’s not my intent to bring this guy down. It’s the opposite.”
The celebrity, 61, remains hospitalized following Friday’s medical emergency, and at least one scheduled performance was canceled.
