Cardi B‘s bestie Star Brim has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to maiming and assault in aid of racketeering.
Prosecutors allege Brim is the “godmother” of the 5–9 Brims gang and that she orchestrates crimes such as fraud and assault.
Last month, Brim’s attorney requested she receive probation only.

“[Brim] is a mother, sister, and friend who has undergone an extraordinary transition from a young woman with little regard for the law to a responsible, hardworking, single parent and has done so under challenging circumstances,” he wrote to the judge.
Brim (real name Yvonne Respass) will begin her prison sentence on July 1st and will serve three years of supervised probation upon her release.
Brim must also attend an outpatient mental health program and undergo periodic drug testing plus, provide a sample of her DNA and pay a $100 special assessment fee.
