Cardi B will not face charges after she threw a microphone at a fan during a recent Las Vegas show.
“After a thorough review of this case and with the consultation from the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, this case has been closed as having insufficient evidence. No charges will be filed in relation to this case,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.
A fan threw a drink at the rapper while she was on stage performing. Cardi had asked fans to splash her with water to cool her down, but not for someone to throw a cup at her. Cardi then threw the mic into the crowd, hitting a concertgoer after a cup was thrown.
The alleged victim filed a police report for battery.
Cardi’s attorneys reacted to the decision.
“On behalf of Cardi, we appreciate the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s diligent and prompt resolution of this matter,” her lawyers said in a statement to the press.
