Rapper Cardi B pleaded guilty to orchestrating an attack at a New York City strip club.
Cardi allegedly suspected a woman who worked at Queens’ Angels Gentleman’s Club had slept with her husband, Offset. She had previously confronted the woman and her sister. At some point, Cardi paid a friend $5,000 to beat one of the women down in 2018.
Cardi B also admitted to throwing glass bottles at the victim and her sister back in 2018.
The rapper was sentenced to 15 days of community service.
Cardi B was also ordered to stay away from the sisters for three years. Two co-defendants in the case also pleaded guilty to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment.
“Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions. As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to,” Cardi’s statement reads. “These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now. I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most — the music and my fans.”
