Cara Delevingne Claims Harvey Weinstein Told Her Being Gay Could Hurt Her Career!

Cara Delevingne says Harvey Weinstein once warned her not to be in a relationship with a woman, telling her it could cost her a future in Hollywood.

The model and actress, 33, recalled the exchange on The Louis Theroux Podcast while discussing her sexuality and early years in film. Delevingne said Weinstein called after seeing paparazzi pictures of her with women.

“Harvey Weinstein called me up and said, ‘Are you gay?’” she told Theroux. “And I was like, ‘Um, what do you mean?’ And he was like, ‘You should never be in a relationship with a woman.’”

“You’ll never make it in the industry if people think you’re gay,” she recalled him saying. “And I really believed him, and I really took that to heart.”

Delevingne appeared in 2017’s Tulip Fever, one of the last films released by The Weinstein Company before sexual misconduct allegations against Weinstein reshaped Hollywood.

“I knew at, like, 11 years old,” she said of her sexuality, adding, “I’m very proud of it now.”

In 2017, Delevingne also accused Weinstein of sexual harassment during a hotel encounter. Weinstein has denied allegations of nonconsensual sex. He remains incarcerated as legal proceedings continue in New York and California. A New York rape charge was recently dropped, while his California conviction was upheld in June, with resentencing ordered.
