Candiace Dillard Bassett Blasts ‘RHOP’s Monique Samuels & Says Her Apology Never Happened

Candiace Dillard Bassett is not buying Monique Samuels’ version of events and she is not holding back.

After Monique’s recent remarks about moving on without reconciliation, Candiace addressed the situation on her podcast, Undomesticated. The topic came up after her co-host mentioned that Monique has claimed she apologized in the past, something Candiace says she simply does not remember.

“I mean, I have PTSD from the entire experience, so it’s possible that I could be misremembering,” Candiace said. “But I do not recall ever receiving an apology from that girl.”

Candiace went on to react to Monique framing her past behavior as the result of being unhealed, making it clear that explanation does not sit right with her. “We all got pain. We all got some healing to do and therapy to do,” she said. “But it’s just…it all just reeks to me of skirting around real accountability.”

According to Candiace, a genuine apology would have happened privately and long ago if it were sincere. “If you wanted to apologize to me, you would have and could have called me directly,” she said.

She also made it clear she has no interest in apologies delivered for the cameras. “When you inflict real live pain on people and real live trauma on people, you need to offer a real live apology that does not need to involve cameras,” she said.

Candiace ended with a sharp jab, questioning why Monique seems to speak publicly only when her name comes up.
