Cam’ron Says There May Be “No Turning Back” With Dame Dash

Cam’ron says his relationship with former mentor Dame Dash may be too far gone to repair.

During an appearance on The Danza Project, the Harlem rapper was asked whether there was any chance he and Dash could reconcile.

“Probably,” Cam’ron said, before making clear that he still appreciates what Dash did for him. “Dame done so much for me… he helped me get on Roc-A-Fella Records… and I’m forever grateful for that.”

The rapper said his frustration has little to do with their history and more to do with how their disagreements have spilled into public view.

“My problem is… regardless of what happens, I never take our problems to the internet,” Cam’ron said.

Dash helped Cam’ron sign to Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s, and the two remained close for years. Their public feud kicked off in 2018 after Cam’ron criticized Dash’s movie Honor Up and said he did not like it. Dash later accused Cam’ron of being disloyal and questioned their friendship.

According to him, he stayed quiet for a long time while Dash repeatedly brought him up online. “It kept going on… and I’m like, why are you throwing me in the spot?” he said, later stating that “It felt like he had all this pent up inside of him anyway,” he said.

The rapper added that Dash seemed to enjoy the online attention. “He like, ‘Nah, n—a I’m lit right now,’” Cam’ron said. “And I’m like, ‘Lit beefing with me?’ Like that’s how you want to be lit?”
