Caitlyn Jenner Supports New York County’s Transgender Athletes Ban

Caitlyn Jenner announced her support of a local New York official’s order forbidding female sports teams with transgender athletes from using county-owned facilities.

The ban was enacted in New York City’s Long Island suburbs and affects over 100 facilities.

“Let’s stop it now while we can,” said Caitlyn, who came out as a trans woman in 2015.

Despite Caitlyn coming out as a trans woman, she has been fully against trans women athletes in sports with other women. Caitlyn used to be a tennis player but her transition did not happen until well after she had retired from the sport.

“It is disheartening to witness someone who has experienced the challenges of being marginalized actively contribute to the oppression of others within the same community,” David Kilmnick, the group’s president, said in a statement. “Such actions only serve to amplify the voices of intolerance and detract from the collective efforts towards a more inclusive society.”
